On 28 November, the Stars were awarded to those restaurants that deserve special recognition in one of the most renowned gastronomic guides. Barcelona was the chosen venue for the most anticipated night of the Spanish Hospitality Industry, which can now boast 34 new Stars among its restaurants. And do you know what? 22 of them went to many of our partner restaurants . As an anecdote from this edition, we can mention that, for the first time, a distinction was made between Spain and Portugal, as the Portuguese country will have its own gala in the Algarve on 27 February 2024.

Here is a brief overview of the Cover restaurants that were awarded their first Star:

  • Fraula, by Roseta Féliz and Daniel Malavía, in Valencia.
  • Marcos, by Marcos Mistry, in Gijón.

  • Taste 1973, by Diego Schattenhofer, in Tenerife.

The ceremony culminated with the announcement that, not only did the 13 restaurants distinguished with three Stars retain their category, but two more were added to their list.

And (what a surprise) both are Cover partner restaurants:

  • Disfrutar, by Oriol Castro, in Barcelona
  • NOOR, by Paco Morales, in Córdoba

On the other hand, two of our partners received a green star, in recognition of their work for sustainability. These are:

  • Barro, by Carlos Casillas
  • Monte, by Xune Andrade, in Asturias.

And it did not end there, as two more awards were given to two partners. On the one hand, Joan Carles Ibañez, head waiter at Lasarte, received the Service Award in recognition of his impeccable career. On the other, and for the first time in the history of this gala, Josep "Pitu" Roca, from El Celler de Can Roca, received the award for best Sommelier.
